$13M+ In Improper Homeless Spending

Governor Green's homelessness emergency proclamation allowed normal procurement requirements to be bypassed. The audit subsequently found serious failures in financial oversight. The Governor's Office disputes portions of the findings and says corrective action is underway. Honolulu Civil Beat

What is happening under the Governor's other emergency proclamations that have suspended numerous state laws?

ACTION 1: Contact Your State Legislators

Ask your state representative and senator to investigate the Governor's use of emergency powers.

Suggested message: Investigation into Green's Emergency Powers Request Here!

The Legislature needs to investigate Governor Green's use of emergency powers. These proclamations have suspended safeguards and could create opportunities for fraud, illegal actions and misuse of public funds.

The HomeAid Hawaiʻi audit identified more than $13.7 million in unauthorized or questionable expenditures. HomeAid's network also includes PRP and contractors with PRP connections, while the PRP-connected Be Change Now super PAC spent substantial sums supporting Green's campaigns.

Did political supporters benefit from contracts made possible under these emergency powers?

I am requesting an independent investigation into emergency contracts and spending, including whether the evidence warrants an impeachment inquiry.

Hawaiʻi taxpayers deserve to know where their money went and who benefited.

ACTION 2 (Vital!): Contact Hawaiʻi News Media - Ask to follow the money!

Suggested message: Was This Pay-to-Play? Follow the Money: Green, PRP & No-Bid Contracts

Aloha Hawaii Media,

PRP helped establish Be Change Now, the super PAC that spent more than $1 million supporting Josh Green for lieutenant governor and about $578,000 supporting him for governor.

After Green became governor, emergency proclamations suspended laws and bypassed normal procurement requirements. HomeAid Hawaiʻi received major no-bid contracts. PRP and PRP-connected contractors appear in its network and some have gotten large contracts. The State Auditor has now identified more than $13.7 million in unauthorized or questionable Kauhale expenditures.

Did political supporters of Green financially benefit from contracts made possible under his emergency powers? Who received the money, and how much?

With Lt. Gov. Sylvia Luke indicted in an alleged bribery scheme, these questions warrant investigation.

Please follow the money—not only with HomeAid, but across Green's other emergency proclamations and contracts.

With hundreds of suspended laws and no legislative oversight, Hawaiʻi residents deserve to know where their tax dollars are going, who is benefiting, and whether additional corruption or misuse of public funds is occurring.

Is this future for Hawaii we want?
